The mission of the Student Alliance for Health Involvement (SAHI) is to promote health and healthy behaviors among people both in the Emory and greater Atlanta communities through health fairs, screenings, and educational projects focusing on cardiovascular disease (CVD) and diabetes. SAHI successfully partners with local healthcare professionals to provide health promotion services at physicians’ clinics, community centers, and houses of worship. The organization has formed to challenge itself with the task of ensuring that more individuals become aware of not only the health problems they face, but also their own potential to prevent them.
Led by Emory undergraduate students and people of the community, SAHI possesses the understanding, medical and health education resources, as well as manpower to realize outreach efforts that serve to increase awareness of health issues. Expansion of health foci and outreach demographic is a continued goal of SAHI, as is increasing the effectiveness and availability of our efforts to those who are in most need and stand to benefit the most.
